What Is Canvas?

Canvas is Lincoln University’s web-based learning management system, commonly called an LMS. It is used for online courses and to support many traditional, face-to-face classes.

Depending on your course, you may use Canvas to:

  • Access your syllabus and course materials
  • Review announcements and important dates
  • Submit assignments
  • Participate in discussions
  • Complete quizzes and other activities
  • Communicate with your instructor
  • View assignment feedback and grades
  • Complete your Lincoln Legacy Experience requirements

How to Log In to Canvas

Option 1: Use the Lincoln University Website

  1. Go to the Lincoln University website .
  2. Scroll to the navigation menu at the bottom of the page.
  3. Find and select Canvas in the third column.

Option 2: Go Directly to Canvas

Open Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox and enter the following address in the browser’s address bar:

If you are already signed in to your Lincoln University account in the browser, you may be taken directly to your Canvas Dashboard.

If You Are Asked to Sign In

  1. Select your Lincoln University Microsoft account.
  2. Enter your Lincoln University username and password—the same credentials you use for your Lincoln University email account.
  3. Select Sign In.
  4. After signing in, your personal Canvas Dashboard will appear.

Important: Always use your Lincoln University account credentials to access Canvas. Never share your password with another person.

Canvas Student Mobile App

The free Canvas Student app can help you review announcements, assignments, due dates, course materials, and grades from your mobile device.

Student tip: The mobile app is helpful for checking your courses, but use a laptop or desktop computer when completing complex assignments, uploading important files, or building your LLE ePortfolio.
