Lincoln University Receives Portrait of Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln University proudly announces the donation of a distinguished portrait of President Abraham Lincoln, painted by local artist Bill Ewing and framed by his wife, Mary Ewing. This meaningful gift, made possible by alumni Joseph and Patricia Rothman, will be displayed in Vale Hall as a tribute to Lincoln’s vision and the University’s legacy as the nation’s first degree-granting HBCU. The Rothmans expressed gratitude for their experience at Lincoln and joy in seeing the portrait “finally home.” The University extends thanks to the donors for their contribution, which will inspire students, alumni, and visitors for generations.
