Housing Selection Information

Overall Selection Process

  • For current/returning students, they will complete the Housing Application in the THD Housing Portal.  To participate in selection and access the Housing Application students must have no Financial Holds in the Self Service Portal and have submitted their FAFSA for the upcoming Academic Year.  Once a Housing Application is completed eligible students will be able to receive housing through the Housing Selection process. The next steps for that housing will depend on when the student completed the Housing Application.

FAFSA

  • FAFSA must be completed, signed by all parties, and received by Lincoln University Financial Aid Department to qualify for access to the Housing Application when it is open.  Please check your Self-Service Portal to see if your FAFSA has been received.  Any questions please see FAFSA and / or the Financial Aid Department.

Bills

  • Once the next semester bills have been created and your housing has been selected you will see your meal plan and housing costs for the semester appear in your Self-Service Portal. Your housing rate is dependent on the meal plan and housing assignment selected. (for example Apartment Style Living (ASL) has a higher semester rate than a standard double in another building).

Housing Selection Lottery

  • For all eligible returning students housing selection is a random lottery.  Once a students Housing Application is completed they will be eligible for housing for the next semester.
  • On a predetermined date before the start for the Housing Selection period students who completed their housing application will be randomly assigned a date and time slot for selection during the actual selection period.
  • Those who complete the Housing Application after this selection period will be placed in their housing by the Office of Residence Life, by space availability.
  • Students can enter the full name of 1 potential roommate in their housing application.  As long as both students complete their housing application during the same time frame and list each other on their application the Office of Residence Life will attempt to give them the same time frame to do housing selection during that period.  Please note the Office of Residence Life is not able to guarantee roommates.

Meals

  • Upperclassmen students will have the choice of 19 meals per week which comes with 100 Flex Dollars per semester or 14 meals per week which comes with 50 flex dollars per semester to be used at one of many campus eateries
  • You can add more flex dollars to your account via the Bursar's office.  Any questions about your flex dollar balance would require you to enter a ticket for IT (Information Technology Department).
  • After the Add/Drop date you are not allowed to change your meal plan.
