First Year and Transfer Students Housing Process:
Incoming students will need to have completed the following items in order to apply for Housing at Lincoln University for the 2025 - 2026 Academic Year.
Submit Your Intent to Enroll
Received email from Lincoln IT with Lion email account and Log-in Credentials, and afterwards accessed your Lion email account and the LU Self-Service Portal.
Confirmed your enrollment by submitting your non-refundable $275 Enrollment Fee and see that it is posted in your LU Self-Service Portal.
Admissions Office has moved you to Student - which will give you access to log into the Housing Portal with your Lincoln email address and password. (Portal Located on Residence Life Main webpage)
First Year and Transfer Students Housing Application Dates:
Students will complete the Housing Application once the requirements are met in one of the following Rounds. Residence Life staff will then place students in their housing assignments.
Round 1:
Housing Application Opens Monday, April 21st 9:00 AM
Housing Application Closes Sunday, May 18th at 11:59 PM.
Placement will be visible in THD Housing Portal by Friday, May 30th 5:00 PM.
Round 2:
Housing Application Opens Sunday, June 1st 9:00 AM
Housing Application Closes Sunday, June 22nd at 11:59 PM.
Placement will be visible in THD Housing Portal by Friday, June 27th 5:00 PM.
Round 3:
Housing Application Opens Sunday, June 29th 9:00 AM
Housing Application Closes Sunday, July 20th at 11:59 PM.
Placement will be visible in THD Housing Portal by Friday, July 25th 5:00 PM.
Final Round:
Housing Application Opens Sunday, July 27th at 9:00 AM
Housing Application will Remain open until the Add/Drop Date.
Placement will be visible in THD Housing Portal weekly/daily as we approach the Add/Drop Date.
Rooms are furnished with a desk (2), desk chairs (2), dresser (2), extra-long twin mattress and bed frame (2), and wardrobe if the room does not have closet space. Rooms are also equipped with cable outlet and Ethernet connection.

First year females are housed in Lorraine Hansberry and Ashmun halls.
Males are housed in Frederick Douglass and McRary halls.
Yes, all residence halls have access to wireless Internet service. If you have a gaming device, you will need to register your device with the Office of Information Technology to ensure optimal connectivity.
All incoming (first year and transfer) students are assigned a 19-meals-per-week plan. Returning students can choose between 14 and 19 meals per week. Any changes must be completed before the Add/Drop date at the start of each semester. For more information on rates, please visit Dining Services.
Visitation is allowed during the time period of 7 pm - 12 am daily. Guests are required to sign-in with ID at the building front desk with the Community Advisor on duty.
Apartment Style Living (ASL) is co-ed by suite, LLC North, South and Guest Quarters by floors, McRary by floor, & Rendall Hall by floor.
No single rooms are available at this time.
Apartment Style Living (ASL), Rendall Hall, Lucy Laney Hall and Cresson Hall are the only residence halls with air-conditioned rooms.
No. The halls will be closed and secured during the break and residents will be required to return room keys back in. We do suggest that residents take valuable personal items with them.
Rooms are assigned to incoming freshmen and transfer students upon admission, receipt of the acceptance fee and completed Housing Application. Returning upperclassmen have the opportunity to select their room assignment and roommate(s) during the Room Selection Process in late March or early April.
Changes can be made three weeks after classes begin during Room Swap Period. Changes must be approved by the Area Coordinator of the Residence Hall.
Yes, if there are still rooms available and until the Add / Drop date at the start of the Semester.

Area Coordinators are live-in professional staff who support residents, respond to emergencies, and serve as liaisons to various campus offices. They supervise CAs, student staff, who promote and build community.
A Community Advisor (CA) is a student staff member who serves as a resource to help you adjust to your home away from home. They will be a resource to your academic major, on campus services, programs/events, and policies of the university.
