Canvas and Online - Blended Resources

Welcome to the site for Canvas and Online and Blended Learning Resources.

All courses are in Canvas.  If you do not see your course on your Canvas dashboard, check with your department assistant to determine if you have been added in Colleague as the instructor of the course. If you have not been added, once your department assistant adds you, you should see your course on your dashboard by the end of the day or the next day depending on the time of day you are added to the course. Once you have access to Canvas, please visit the Growing with Canvas training course on your dashboard. This training remains on your dashboard for easy access.

  Canvas Preparation Tips
  • In these uncertain times, consider developing an alternative syllabus to reflect your plan if we are unable to return to campus.
  • Consider how your course looks to your students. Is there clear contact information in your course? Have you created your gradebook in the LMS? To further engage your students, have you thought about creating groups in the LMS?
  • Ensure that your course design and delivery support student-to-student and faculty-to-student interaction.
  • It is recommended that you include a welcome and introduction statement, the course Zoom link, the syllabus, a sequential listing  (using the Module tool) of course assignments, and resources. Designing and developing your course in a multi-modality format will enhance your course's quality and accessibility.
  • If you do not have a Zoom account, contact IT.  Information on how to request a Zoom account is on the Zoom Resources page
  • Review the Canvas Readiness Checklist (Word format).
  • Learn other features of Canvas.
    • Attend training labs or learn on your own via the self-paced Canvas Faculty Training on your Canvas dashboard.
    • Review the Canvas Instructor Guide.
