Veteran Service Specialist Sam Lyght Headshot

Meet Sam Lyght, Veteran Services Specialist

I am a retired Army combat veteran who served in Operation Enduring Freedom. As a Veteran Service Specialist, brings extensive experience and dedication, having received the Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) for exemplary service. My primary role is to ensure every student veteran and their dependents have the necessary tools and resources to navigate our campus community. Various entitlements come with being a student veteran here at Lincoln University. Those benefits include an in-state tuition rate, priority registration (every semester), benefits counseling to help maximize your educational resources from the Veterans Benefits Administration, and much more.

Our office also provides tailored services:

  • Admissions Deferral
  • Academic Advising
  • Financial Advocacy
  • Enrollment Certification
  • Leadership Training (Army ROTC)
  • VA Work-study Program
  • Veterans Resource Center (dedicated lounge for studying, networking, or relaxing)
  • Military-Greek Fraternity/Sorority (Alpha Omega Phi)

My goal is to ensure that each student receives the support and guidance they need to become a graduate of this historic institution. As a veteran myself, I understand that transitioning to higher education can be stressful and confusing at times. I invite you to visit my department in Wright Hall, First Floor, Rooms 100, 111, 112, and 113. My office and I are committed to your success so we encourage you to contact us with any questions or concerns. I look forward to welcoming you to the Lion Family.

I can also be reached at slyght@lincoln.edu or via phone at 484-365-7950. We invite you to schedule a one-on-one meeting with Sam to discuss your specific needs and ensure you have all the support necessary for a smooth and successful experience at Lincoln.
