Lincoln University, PA - June 25, 2025 - Lincoln University proudly celebrates Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, Venus D. Boston, Esq., appointment to the Board of Directors for the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), the premier organization serving higher education legal professionals across the country. Boston’s appointment represents her distinguished career and unwavering commitment to legal excellence, governance, and the advancement of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
Boston brings over a decade of experience in higher education law, with a distinguished record of service to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). As Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, Boston has strengthened the University's legal infrastructure, supported key policy initiatives, and enhanced institutional compliance and governance practices. Prior to joining Lincoln University, Boston served as the Assistant and Deputy Chief Legal Counsel at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). She also served as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law in the College of Economics and Finance at WSSU, teaching and mentoring those who plan to follow in her footsteps one day.
A dedicated member of NACUA since 2014, Boston’s appointment to the NACUA Board underscores the caliber of leadership at Lincoln University and reflects her professional excellence and national recognition. This achievement is not only a proud moment for the University but also for the broader community of legal professionals committed to advancing excellence, equity, and innovation in higher education law. As a board member, Boston will continue to play a key role in shaping national conversations around institutional compliance, governance, risk management, and legal strategy.
Boston is a three-time honors graduate of North Carolina Central University, earning a Juris Doctorate, a master’s degree in Public Administration, and a bachelor’s degree in English. In addition to her active role with NACUA, she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
