Special Academic Advisors

In addition to our pre-major academic advising team, we offer specialized support through our Athletic Advisor and Career Advisor. They provide targeted guidance to help student athletes balance academic and athletic commitments, and assist all students in exploring career paths, internships, and post-graduate opportunities. Once you and your pre-major academic advisor complete the major/minor application form, you will be advised by an academic advisor in your major.

Academic Advising Appointments

Students are connected with their academic advisor in their Success Network in LU Starfish. We offer in-person, virtual, and phone appointments to accommodate your schedule and preferences. If you are having difficulty with LU Stafish, email your academic advisor.

Make the Most of Your Advising Appointment

Prepare for your appointment

Before meeting with your academic advisor, review the general education requirements and your intended major sequence sheet in the academic catalog. In LU Self-Service, review your transcript, courses, and grades. Come prepared with questions.

Meet Regularly

Be proactive! Do not wait until registration time or academic difficulties arise. Schedule check-ins throughout the semester to discuss your progress, explore opportunities, and address concerns.

Follow Through

Take action on the recommendations from your advisor. Whether it is visiting the Mathematics Lab, Reading and Writing Lab, applying for an internship, or meeting with a professor, following through demonstrates your commitment to success.
