Dr. Marlayne Manley

Sophomore/Transition Dean, Student Success

The dean of sophomore/transitional students is responsible for working with students who are preparing to enter their intended majors. The dean will work with faculty advisors, chairs, and other university offices to hold information sessions and other activities that will assist students in exploring career paths in their majors or interest. The dean of sophomore/transitional students will also work with students who are undecided about their major, as well as those students who may have challenges with admission into certain majors to help them understand alternative pathways and explore opportunities that may suit their goals.

Dr. Manley has worked in many capacities at Lincoln University with her last role serving as director of Student Support Services. As director for Student Support Services, Dr. Manley was responsible for many programs including disability services, student employment, community service for judicial sanctions, as well as the Sophomore Year Experience program. She has been with Lincoln University for over 10 years.

Dr. Manley obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology from Temple University; a Master of Arts degree from New York University in counseling and guidance, and her Doctorate of Education degree from Wilmington University. She is excited about her new role as a class dean and looks forward to helping students navigate their academic journey.
