Bio:
Samanda Robinson is an Assistant Professor of African American Literature in the Department of Languages and Literature at Lincoln University. A proud HBCU Alumna of Fisk University, she earned her B.A. in English with a minor in Women's and Gender Studies in 2017. She then went on to obtain her PhD in English at Johns Hopkins University in 2023. She previously served as an Academic Program Lead in the Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity (URSCA) at Johns Hopkins University, where she also served as the Director of the summer pipeline program for HBCU and MSI students, the Ph.D. Pathway for Advancement in the Humanities and Social Sciences (PATHS). Dr. Robinson previously taught at Morgan State University in the Department of English and Language Arts as an Adjunct Professor. She researches Black speculation, Black science fiction and Afrofuturism. Her work has been published in the Routledge Companion to Literatures of the U.S. South and Innovative Higher Education.
