Pedagogy Innovation Specialist, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning
Dr. Lyndsey Stratton serves as the Pedagogy and Instructional Innovations Specialist, where she supports faculty in designing engaging, inclusive, and effective learning experiences. Her work focuses on making teaching more accessible and student-centered through evidence-based instructional practices.
Dr. Stratton earned her BA in Secondary English Education from The College of Saint Rose in 2010 and her MA in English from Southern New Hampshire University in 2017. She completed her Ed.D. in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at Gwynedd Mercy University in May 2025. Since 2018, she has taught English composition at Lincoln University and has also taught at institutions including Drexel University, Holy Family University, and Penn State University, delivering courses in composition, developmental writing, world literature, and public speaking.
Grounded in a constructivist teaching philosophy, Dr. Stratton believes that students learn best through active engagement, real-world application, and opportunities to construct their own understanding, with instructors serving as guides in the learning process.
She has presented at professional conferences on topics related to teaching and learning, including Teaching and Learning with AI, Lincoln University’s HBCU Digital Innovation Symposium, and the Gwynedd Mercy University Annual Autism Institute.
Her areas of expertise include active learning strategies, student engagement, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), artificial intelligence in education, and the effective use of Canvas and other instructional technologies. She believes UDL is an integral component of effective teaching and works with faculty to proactively design courses that support diverse learners and improve student success.
Outside of her professional role, Dr. Stratton enjoys spending time with her family and staying actively involved in her community. She and her husband are active members of a motorcycle club that supports charitable initiatives, including fundraising efforts for children who are burn victims. She also enjoys reading, crafting with her children, and creating meaningful family experiences.
