Dr. LaToya Johnson
Assistant Professor, Education, School of Adult & Continuing Education - Graduate Programs
Dr. LaToya Johnson is a passionate educator who has served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership positions for more than 18 years; these positions include principal, academic director, curriculum specialist, instructional coach, elementary & middle school teacher, and a college professor.
Dr. Johnson holds a Ph.D. in Education, a Master of Science in Elementary Education, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Marketing; and a Principal certification in PK-12 Administration. Her educational background and professional experiences have helped shape her philosophy of education, which is deeply rooted in the pedagogy of active learning.
As an educator, she is driven to lead, coach, encourage, and inspire. She prides herself in developing educators and creating a culture of collaboration. She believes, together with an uncompromising stance, educators can make a difference. Dr. Johnson’s favorite quote is “We're educators. We're born to make a difference."-Rita Pierson.
