Biology Department

Biology is the study of life itself: how living organisms are made and how they function. Animals, plants, people, and more: they all fall under the umbrella of biology. That makes biology a broad field, encompassing many specialized areas. But it's also an essential one, and studying biology can help lead to a number of jobs, including careers as a pharmacist, biological researcher, nurse, or doctor.

At Lincoln University's biology department, our mission is to give you a foundation of scientific knowledge related to biology and other attached fields. You'll study and conduct research in classes and independently while learning from a dedicated and caring faculty. When you've completed your work in the biology department, you'll emerge with a strong grounding not just in biology, but also in chemistry, physics, and mathematics. That way, whether you choose to go to work right away or pursue further study in graduate school, you'll have all the skills and knowledge base you need to excel.

So if you're interested in the study of life and building a career around that interest, biology may be the right fit for you. Explore courses and requirements in the current academic year course catalog.

Lincoln's biology department currently offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in biology. We also offer a BS degree in Environmental Science (Biology Track). We also offer minors in Biology and Environmental Issues.
