Sociology

Program Overview

The Sociology major focuses on the systematic study of social behavior, institutions, and patterns of social change. Students gain strong foundations in theory, methods, and applied research, preparing them to understand and address complex social issues.

 

Curriculum and Degree Requirements

The curriculum includes core courses in classical and contemporary sociological theory, research methods, data analysis, and electives in social inequality, institutions, and deviance.

 

Sociology Program Goals:

  • Demonstrate a strong analytical understanding of social structure and institutions.
  • Apply sociological theory and research methods to real-world problems.
  • Communicate sociological insights effectively in oral and written form.
