Information Systems Management (BS, BA, Minor)

Mission Statement:

The Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management at Lincoln University equips students with the knowledge and skills to effectively utilize technology in any business or organization. This degree program prepares students for various career paths, including systems analysis, business application programming, and decision support in global companies. Students will learn about the innovative ways organizations use information technology to drive their success, and they will develop skills in data management for decision-making, technology and systems management to support organizational goals, business intelligence for competitive advantage, and solution development for value creation. In today's digital age, technological proficiency is the engine driving innovation and efficiency! Information Systems Management (ISM), the study and application of computer systems and networks, stands as the backbone of modern businesses and organizations. 

The Information Systems Management Major curriculum encompasses a diverse array of topics, providing students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in areas such as:

  • Information Systems Management
  • Data Mining, Warehousing, & Modeling
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Project Management
  • Database Management

Students who complete the program will be able to:

  1. Explain the combined components necessary for operation and management of Information Systems Management services and environments as it relates to business.
  2. Examine Structured Query Language (SQL) subsets (DML, DDL, and DCL), used for managing data within a database, by creating, deleting, fetching, modifying, and joining data tables.
  3. Relate and discuss how Information Systems Management helps businesses use data to make decisions that foster profitability and increase competitive advantage.
  4. Describe and assess the subsets of Information Systems Management projects commonly faced in businesses.
