Entrepreneurial Studies (Minor)

Mission Statement:

The Entrepreneurship Program is to inspire and equip students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to identify, develop, and launch innovative business ventures. The program focuses on fostering creativity, resilience, and strategic thinking, enabling students to turn ideas into viable businesses. Through a hands-on curriculum that blends theory with real-world application, students learn to assess market opportunities, develop business models, and navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship in various industries.

Open to all students, regardless of their declared major, the Entrepreneurship Minor equips individuals with the mindset, skills, and resources necessary to thrive in the world of business. Through a diverse range of courses, students gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience in key areas such as:

  • Entrepreneurship: Launching New Ventures
  • Entrepreneurial Finance
  • Intellectual Property Law
  • E-commerce/E-business
  • Enterprise Innovations, Production, and Marketing

Students who complete the program will be able to:

  1. Discuss and apply the value-added by entrepreneur enterprises as it relates to the community, region, and national economies.
  2. Examine the critical role of innovation for entrepreneurships in terms of branding, product creation, marketing, media communications, and information systems.
  3. Design and critique basic business operations for entrepreneurships, including, but not limited to managing the supply chain, production, customer service, marketing, and administrative duties.
  4. Assess the fiscal soundness of entrepreneurship using accounting principles and financial planning tools.
