Concert Choir – The Lincoln University Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Camilla J. Horne, is one of the premier organizations on the campus of Lincoln University and membership is open to all students. The members of the Lincoln Concert Choir sing choral repertoire from all musical eras and their vocal prowess and penchant for maintaining African American traditions in their music has allowed the them to achieve a renowned reputation of excellence at the regional, state, and national levels. The singers who make up this extraordinary choral ensemble hail from all corners of the globe and are pursuing degrees in a variety of disciplines. The Lincoln University Concert Choir encompasses the greatest talents on campus, including in its ranks officers of the Student Government Association, the Lincoln University Royal Court, and members from the university’s athletic department. The Lincoln University Concert Choir members serve as ambassadors for the university by building relationships with communities, touring extensively, and performing recruitment concerts at churches of all denominations and a variety of schools throughout the country. Some of the choir’s most recent tours have included performing in Los Angeles, California; Atlanta, Georgia; and its international debut in South Africa.
Glee Club (Men's Choir) – In the tradition of Lincoln University and under the direction of Dr. Camilla Horne, the music department has given rebirth to the Lincoln University Men's Glee Club and membership is open to all tenor, baritone and bass singers. This select ensemble performs music of standard choral literature for men’s voices while serving as musical ambassadors for the university.
Opera and Musical Theater Workshop – The Lincoln University Opera and Musical Theater Workshop is a class open to all Lincoln University students. Enrollment is based upon a vocal, acting, and dancing audition and/or approval of the instructor. During this class, students will be exposed to all aspects related to rehearsing and performing an opera and/or musical theater production including: successfully learning and performing a musical theater and/or operatic role; developing college-level acting skills; and improving personal vocal technique and healthy vocal production. The culmination of this class is a presentation of a high quality, staged opera and/or musical theater production. Students interested in costume design, make up, set design, stage crew, and the technical aspects (lights and sound) involved in a fully staged production are also encouraged to participate in this class. Recent productions include "Treemonisha" by Scott Joplin, "Hansel and Gretel" by Engelbert Humperdink, and “Dreamgirls” by Henry Krieger and Tom Eyen.
