in to MyWebCT
Dear Students,
Welcome to Lincoln University’s WebCT system! WebCT is a Web-based system for accessing material from your course, and for communicating with your professor and fellow students. There are several things you need to know in order to get started:
You Must be Registered
Only certain instructors and courses use WebCT for class work. You and your courses are activated in WebCT based on your official registration with the Registrar’s Office. Your professor cannot add you to WebCT. Please make sure your registrations are correct.
Preparing to use WebCT
You must use a computer that is connected to the Internet, either 1) in your room through your telephone line or through a direct “Ethernet” connection; or 2) in any computer lab on campus; or 3) from home, if you can access the Internet from home. You must also have a web browser, either Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator. WebCT is pretty particular about versions. Please click on the Browser Tuneup link on our WebCT home page (www.lincoln.edu/webct.html) for help.
Logging in to WebCT
Go to www.lincoln.edu and click on the WebCT icon at the top left. You will be taken to the WebCT Status page. (You are already here, of course!)
Note the status of the WebCT server, and click the link: Log in to WebCT.
You have been added to WebCT and to your courses that have on-line material. You have an individual User Name and password, which you should NEVER share with anyone. No Lincoln University staff member has the right or need to ask for your password. Those of us that need to gain access to your account to help you can do so without it.
Your User Name is the first 4 letters of your last name and the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. Your initial password is your full Social Security number. Both are in all lower case letters and have no punctuation or spacing.

** Please note that if your SSN begins with a leading zero, drop the leading zero and simply type in the last 8 digits of your SSN for your password.
*** Also note that if you do not have a SSN, then your username will be the first 4 letters of your last name and the last 4 digits of your Datatel Colleague Number. Your password will be your Datatel Colleague ID Number. If you do not know your Datatel Colleague Number, please contact the IT Department on x8134 to obtain it.

For help with getting into WebCT please call the WebCT Help Line at ext. 7840 or IT Help Desk at ext. 8134 or visit us in Dickey Hall room 276. The WebCT Help Line can also be reached by calling 800-340-5462. For help with your user name and password we will ask you to confirm your identity.
