How to Set Up A WebCT Course and Other Questions Answered
How
do I set up a WebCT course?
Call or e-mail Nancy Evans in ATS (ext. 8148, evans@lincoln.edu) or Martha Spencer in IT (mspencer @lincoln.edu),
with the exact course title and number including section number.
How to Log In
IT will give
you a username and password and load your students into the class. Log in through the link on the Lincoln home page and "Log In" link on the WebCT page.
When
can I request a WebCT course?
Contact Ms. Evans or Ms. Spencer at least
four weeks before classes start to establish your WebCT class. You may have a shell set up much earlier if you'd like.
When students have
registered, their names will be loaded.
Who
can help faculty create WebCT courses?
Faculty
Technology Mentor, Dr. Zoran
Milovanovich (ext. 7548, milovanovich@lincoln.edu) holds workshps every Wednesday afternoon on the main campus and offers help to individuals. You will be notified woth the time and place early in each semester.
Dr. Frank Worts, ext. 7250 or worts@lincoln.edu, assists graduate faculty in using WebCT through the Graduate Center.
Are workshops offered to faculty?
Workshops on the use of WebCT tools are offered on the main campus every Wednesday at 3:00. You will be notified woth the time and place early in each semester.
For initial
set up please call ext. 8134. For questions, a WebCT help line has set up: 1-800-340-5462 or you may email a question to webct.help@lincoln.edu.
Faculty can always call ATS at ext. 8148. Students with questions should
ask their professors or IT at ext. 1234.
Who
will provide technical support?
Faculty: ATS staff and Faculty Mentors
will help faculty use WebCT.
Students' technical problems should be directed
to Martha Spencer in IT, ext. 7542 or mspencer@lincoln.edu
How
do students access WebCT?
Please refer to the Student Letter from IT or distribute a copy in class. Copies are available from ATS.
Students access log in to WebCT the same
way that faculty do, via the WebCT link on Lincoln's home page.
If faculty cannot
answer students' questions, students can contact the WebCT Helpline at 1-800-340-5462 or webct.help@lincoln.edu.
How
will I find out what's going on?
Events, schedules and WebCT information
will be made available on the Lincoln WebCT log in page.
E-mail announcements will be sent when necessary.
