Welcome to the Writing Across the Curriculum/Writing in the Disciplines Program
The Writing Across the Curriculum/Writing in the Disciplines Program is Lincoln University's comprehensive program for writing support, resources, and pedagogy for Lincoln students, faculty, and staff. Our mission is to foster a collective spirit of creativity, collaboration and professionalism around writing, and to encourage our community of writers here at Lincoln.
Our program's philosophy is simple: Change the culture around writing and you will change the writer. Our goal is to improve students' competence in their discipline, develop professionalism and leadership, and use writing to encourage the students' critical engagement in a world that is increasingly global and profoundly digital.
This initiative is supported by and works in partnership with the following programs:
- The Department of English and Mass Communications
- The Writing Proficiency Program
- The Lincoln University Writing Committee
- The Learning Resource Center
- The Teaching and Learning Enhancement Center
- The Office of Academic Affairs: Title III
Building our Writing Community
Each of us, whether we are students, faculty, administration, or staff can impact one another-and ultimately the world around us- through the power of the written word. In a very real way, encouraging effective writing is a practice of shared responsibility. Our hope is that we can expand the boundaries of writing beyond the walls of our classroom.
The goal of this site is to be the go-to writing source for the Lincoln community. We will also provide updates on all the WAC/WID program's current and upcoming projects. Just like good writers, we will be consistently updating and revising our site and resources to reach our programmatic goals and to address your needs.
