
Opera Workshop
Opera Workshop is open to all students based on
audition or with instructor permission. Opera Workshop credit is
available to singers, dancers, actors, stage crew, and students
interested in other aspects of production, including, but not limited
to, costuming, lighting, and set construction. In the past two years,
Dr. Kirsten C. Kunkle has directed full productions of the African
American opera Treemonisha by Scott Joplin and
Romantic period standard Hansel and Gretel by
Engelbert Humperdinck. Dr. Kunkle welcomes all students who have an
interest in music or theater to contact her to participate in the opera
productions.

Jazz Ensemble
The Lincoln University Jazz Ensemble is a select group
of students under the direction of H. Wade Johnson. Membership is
open by audition.

Concert Choir
Under the direction of Mr. Edryn Coleman, the Lincoln
University
Concert Choir is a select ensemble of singers. The majority of the
singers in the ensemble are undergraduate
music majors, membership is open to all students at the university
through an audition process. The Concert Choir rehearses four times a
week on vocal music with an emphasis on African American tradition. The
Lincoln University Concert Choir gives several concerts each semester,
and has been invited to perform at choral conventions, the choir has
achieved a reputation of excellence on the regional, state, and
national level.

String Ensemble
The String Ensemble is open by audition to students
who are instrumental/string majors and minors, and those who are majors
in other areas. Dr. Christine Limb directs the String Ensemble.
