What have you learned from your project about the principles and practices of good teaching that you would like to share with your colleagues?

While creating the guidelines for the rhetorical modes to share with Lincoln students, I discovered once again that there are many different methods of imparting this information to students, and that I had to remain open to these valuable differences because different people learn at different paces and in different ways.

In what way(s) did this project help your students gain new knowledge or skills?

By including student examples and basing the entire approach on the different ways in which we teach the rhetorical modes, I expect that students will garner new approaches to the challenges we pose in the writing classroom.

In what way(s) has your grant-funded project changed the way that you teach?

Obviously, while contemplating the different ways that our learner outcomes are realized in
Composition, I learned once again that my presence in the classroom is only as valuable as is my ability to remain open to new learning styles.
