Student Employee of the Month/Year Competition and Awards
PROGRAM
GUIDELINES
ELIGIBILITY
& REQUIREMENTS
·
Students must be employed under Lincoln University’s
Student Employment Program and must work a minimum of six
(6) hours per week.
· Students may be nominated by department supervisors
only. Supervisors may nominate only one student per month.
· Students nominated must have been employed in the
department thirty (30) days prior to the month student is
nominated for.
NOMINATION
CRITERIA
The student nominee should have demonstrated performance that
is considered “above and beyond” in most, if not
all of the following performance qualities:
· Attendance & Dependability
· Quality & Quantity of Work
· Successful Completion of Task in a Timely Manner
· Demonstrated Initiative & Professionalism
· Ability to Work Well With Others
· Attitude and Disposition
· Overall Contribution to Department/Employer
NOMINATION
PROCESS
A nomination form must be completed by the
supervisor for the student being nominated. The summary of
accomplishments should describe the student’s accomplishments
and indicate the reasons why the student should be recognized,
by describing his/her performance that is considered “above
and beyond.” Please complete form and send all nomination
information to oss@lincoln.edu. Download form here and submit to oss@lincoln.edu. Nomination
forms will not be accepted via inter-office campus mail. Nomination
forms must be received by the established deadline date (refer
to Schedule of Important Dates to Remember) in order to be
considered
SELECTION
PROCESS
A selection committee will review all nominations the first week of every
month. The Committee will choose the student employee to be
honored with the Student Employee of the Month Award. The
recipient of the Student Employee of the Year Award will be
chosen from the students who were previously awarded the Student
Employee of the Month. The Committee will use the nomination
criteria above in selecting student employees for recognition.

- Certificate of Achievement
- Photo and Biography showcased on Office of Student Services Website
- Recognition during National Student Employment Week
- Photo and Biography distributed to all Students, Staff and Faculty
Student Employee of the Year
- $100 Cash Award
- Student of the Year Plaque and other gifts
Effective 2009, nomination to NSEA’s National Student Employee of the Year Award for the chance to receive national recognition from the National Student Employment Association and win $1,000.
