College life can be complicated at times and
students some times run into obstacles ot situations that they
are ill-equipped to handle, be it administrative, academic, financial
or social adjustment. The Office of Retention and Student Setvices
is designed to:
(1) provide students with
correct and up-to-date information on Universiry policies, procedures
and practices;
(2) provide srudent ombudsman services
to solve problems or issues that involve one or more offices or
divisions of the University;
(3) provide academic
advising services for a specified group of students; (4)
monitor the academic performance of students who fail to meet
the published standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress;
(5)
provide services to students with disabilities, both learning
and physical;
(6) coordinate and supervise students
working for and involved with WWLU and LUCTV
(7)
administer the University’s Student Employment Program consistent
with all Federal guidelines; and
(8) monitor
students compliance with judicial sanctions enacted by the Dean
0f Students and Campus Life or University Judicial Board.
The goal of the Office of Retention and Student
Services is to improve student retention at Lincoln by helping
students to become intellectually and sociaily engaged, increase
their understanding of the University and provide assistance that
will allow students to continue their studies through graduation.
