| 1. The School of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will
instill a "student centered" approach to learning in the classroom and in faculty
and staff offices where academic advising and counseling take place.
2. The School of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will regularly update
their Departmental Curricula to meet local, state and national standards unique
to their individual departments. 3. The School of Social Sciences and Behavioral
Studies will infuse technology into every aspect of the curriculum in the eight
departments. 4. The School of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will
eliminate programs which will be obsolete in 2003 and develop State of the Art
programs reflective of the needs of students in 2003. 5. The School of
Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will develop more innovative educational
programs and sources in the Philadelphia Area - Urban Center on 3020 Market Street
- to meet the needs of non-traditional students. 6. The School of Social
Sciences and Behavioral Studies will put an infrastructure in place which will
require all of their students to spend a minimum of one semester abroad for study
of another language, culture, social and fiscal system. 7. The Faculty
in the School of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will design and implement
effective student assessments of methodologies to document mastery of skills and
competencies in its undergraduate and graduate programs. 8. The School
of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will work to hire faculty with credentials
commensurate with the majors offered in his/her respective Academic Departments.
9. The School of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will work to retain exemplary
faculty and staff by working with the University's Administration and Alumni Association
of the University. 10. The School of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies
will ameliorate the camaraderie and espirit de corps among faculty, staff and
students. 11. The School of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will
significantly reduce the number of low enrollment classes in Economics and Business,
Psychology, Political Science and History. 12. The School of Social Sciences
and Behavioral Studies will develop a faculty mentoring program for all new faculty.
13. The School of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will aggressively
seek federal, state, alumni, corporate, and foundation resources for the enhancement
of existing programs and development of new programs. 14. The School of
Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will develop an accountability system for
faculty attendance at University, School and Departmental Meetings and maintenance
of office hours and attendance at all scheduled classes. 15. The School
of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies will promote a management style conducive
to positive human relations with students and employees of the University. |
