for the Sesquicentennial Talent Competitions The
Lincoln University Sesquicentennial Commission proudly presents a Musical Performance
Contest in celebration of 150 years of Lincoln University's exemplary contributions
to the world. All applicants must indicate their desire to
compete by signing up in the Office of Special Events and Community Relations,
Lincoln Hall, Room 209. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2004.
Theme: The theme of the performance must in some way
be related to Lincoln's Sesquicentennial celebration and its relevance should
be stated briefly at the beginning of the performance. Attire:
The attire must be "After Five" or appropriate for dramatic performance. Evaluation
Criteria: - Appropriate Selection (Theme)
10 points
- Appropriate Appearance 10 points
- Technique/Character
Development (Drama) 20 points
- Projection/Presence 20
points
- Interpretation 20 points

General Musicianship/Believability (Drama) 20 points

Criteria: - Participants may use a faculty sponsor

Performances must be between 3 and 5 minutes in length
- Virtually
all music genres are accepted
- Judges will be non-visual and performing
arts faculty participation
Schedule: Application
completed by January 15, 2004 Contest Performance: Wednesday, March
3, 2004 at 4:00 PM in the Mary Dod Brown Chapel Official Notification
