for the Sesquicentennial Talent Competitions Theme:
The theme for this competition is Lincoln University's Sesquicentennial celebration
(1854-2004). The artwork considered for this competition must reflect Lincoln's
history or events and/or persons who have had an impact on the history of Lincoln. Accepted
Media: All two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual arts media are acceptable.
All artwork must be original. All artworks using appropriated images must do so
within the guidelines of fair use for copyrighted materials.
Judging Criteria: Ability to express content as it
relates to theme: 30 points - Use of subject matter

Formal/Expressive use of design: 30
points

Handling of media: 20
points Presentation: 20 points - All
participants are encouraged to have a faculty sponsor. (Does not need to be a
Visual Arts faculty member.)
- All works must be submitted by
Monday, March 22, 2004.
- Submitted works must be ready
for display.
- Students may submit a one-page description/explanation
of the work to address relevance to theme.
- Submission of works
grants Lincoln University rights for photo reproduction and exhibition.
- All applicants must indicate their desire to compete by signing up in
the Office of Special Events and Community Relations, Lincoln Hall, Room 209.
