The Dean discussed the most important goals highlighted in the strategic plan including: · Retention of science and math students · Admission of Lincoln University graduates to graduates, and professional schools · Review of Science and Math Curriculum · Technology in the Classroom · Grant Questions were asked about the "no more than 2 C minus grades in the department." Dean Chikwem explained that the resolution was hampered by the fact that other merged departments were also involved and that some faculty emphasized that all required courses for the major are involved. He said that he would consult with the VP of Academic Affairs on how best to resolve the issue.

IV. Science Building Committee Report
Professor Barimani gave a brief report. He stated that no new meeting was held. He will email Chairs a questionnaire regarding the space requirements for each department. Physics department already calculated their space requirement.

V. Instructors Evaluation
It was observed that the present system needs to be changed in order to increase efficiency. The following suggestions were made: a) Evaluation forms should be completed earlier - about one month before the end of the semester. b) An outside person should be sent to the classroom. The instructors should be informed when the outside person would come. c) Summary of comments made by students should be sent to the instructor.

VI. Announcements
Dr. Royer announced that Ben Franklin Partnership is negotiating with Lincoln University and Villanova for joint research in Environmental Science and other areas. All faculty interested should consult Dr. Royer.
