Room Selection for Fall 2008
The Office of Residence Life’s mission
is to develop and promote residential communities whereby respect,
courtesy and consideration for others are considered paramount.
It is our duty and obligation to provide a clean, safe and secure
environment, while enhancing and supporting the academic mission
of the University. Programs and activities are provided to assist
with the overall development of our residents. It is our expectation
that students adhere to university policies and procedures while
residing in the residence halls. The Office of Residence Life
staff consists 0f a Director, an Assistant Director, a Senior
Secretary, two Area coordinators, four Hall Coordinators and fifty-four
Resident Advisors. They are primarily responsible for the leadership,
management and supervision of the Residence Halls.
Currently, we can accommodate 1600 students
in fifteen residence halls, with each having its own unique character,
housing students from their freshmen year through their commencement
from the university. Our most recent addition to campus living
is our Apartment Style Living Complex, which will open in August
2005. The apartments have individual rooms in a suite with two
bathrooms, a kitchen and living room. Lounges and study rooms
are located on each floor. Vending machines and laundry services
are located on the first floor. Students maintaining high academic
achievement are eligible to reside in Apartment Style Living.
The Office of Residence Life enjoys the challenge of assisting
students, as well as making their residential experience a rewarding,
positive and enjoyable experience while residing in the residence
halls.
