AGREEMENT
between
HARRISBURG AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE
and
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY
for
ADVANCE ADMISSIONS OF STUDENTS
Harrisburg Area Community College and Lincoln University agree to mutual cooperation in correlating their respective Associate programs for the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree and the Bachelor's degree in Arts or Sciences. Subject to the terms of this agreement, the student who has earned the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree at Harrisburg Area Community College is assured admission to Lincoln University and advanced standing credit for the courses of study completed at Harrisburg Area Community College. Courses to be used for the student's major must be evaluated and accepted by the major department chairperson. The student who has not completed the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree at Harrisburg Area Community College is entitled to apply for admission to Lincoln University and for evaluation of his courses for which transfer credit is requested, but he/she does not enjoy the assurance which this agreement provides for the student who has earned the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree.
Harrisburg Area Community College and Lincoln University officially confirm the following terms of the agreement:
- Within the first year of attendance at Harrisburg Area Community College the interested student signs a letter of intent to transfer to Lincoln University upon completion of his Associate degree program at Harrisburg Area Community College. The letter of intent is valid for three years from the date of signature.
- Upon receipt of a copy of the student's letter of intent, Lincoln University reserves a place for the student as a junior year transfer student.
- At the beginning of the second year at Harrisburg Area Community College the student confirms the selection of Lincoln University as the senior institution and pays the current application fee.
- In the spring of the second year (or third year) at Harrisburg Area Community College the student registers for the next semester (summer or fall) at Lincoln University.
- When the student completes the Harrisburg Area Community College program and receives the Associate degree, Lincoln University formally admits him/her.
- Upon transfer from Harrisburg Area Community College to Lincoln University the student has the option to observe either the curriculum regulations in effect at the time of his/her admission to Lincoln University or those that were in effect at the time he/she entered Harrisburg Area Community College as a freshman.
- Lincoln University accepts all the student's credits and courses from Harrisburg Area Community College that satisfy standard requirements or correspond to Lincoln University courses which are valid for the curriculum or program in which the student is enrolled at Lincoln University. With the exception of major courses, this includes courses in which "D" is the final grade, but excludes courses that were not completed or failed by the student.
- All transfer credits from Harrisburg Area Community College are fitted into the student's program at Lincoln University in accordance with the scheme of course classification at Lincoln (i.e., distributive courses, major fields, free electives, etc.).
- The transfer student enjoys the same rights and privileges and observes the same regulations in the major departments as students in the department who began matriculation at Lincoln in the same year the transfer student entered Harrisburg Area Community College as a freshman.
- Harrisburg Area Community College and Lincoln University will review this mutual agreement at the written request of either institution and make adjustments or amendments when necessary for the improvement of transfer procedures and student articulation.
Harrisburg Area Community College and Lincoln University authorize this agreement to become effective on December 1 1985.
