ATTENDEES: President Ivory V.
Nelson, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Provost and Senior
Vice President Grant D. Venerable, Ms. Thelma Ross for Executive Vice President
Michael B. Hill, and Ms. Diane M. Brown.
MINUTES
Cabinet meeting minutes of December 1, 2010 were approved.
PRESIDENT
Spring admittance numbers – Admittances for the spring semester
total 81 students to date. An additional
fifty (50) students have been admitted to the BHS program.
Presidential Aid Awards -
President Nelson has set aside $300,000 to aid students in danger of
administrative withdrawal from school due to balances owed the University. Awards will be made through the office of
financial aid.
Middle States Commission on Higher Education Action – A set of program
assessment plans has been forwarded to the external evaluator for review. Additional plans will be forwarded as
completed.
VICE PRESIDENT FOR FISCAL AFFAIRS
Mileage Reimbursement - Lincoln University’s mileage reimbursement
rate will remain at 50 cents per mile for travel on University business via
personal vehicle.
Clerical Training – All clerical staff in the Bursar’s office will
be trained on the use of new equipment/software so all will be able to perform
cashier duties.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Admissions criteria – Dr. Nelson stressed the importance of
maintaining our enrollment numbers for fall 2011. SAT score requirements for admittance to
Lincoln University were discussed for fall 2011, Summer Bridge, and Spring
2012. Students who do not meet the
requirements for admittance in the fall will receive a letter of admittance to
the Summer Bridge program, providing their SAT scores fall within the cut-off
level. The criteria may be revisited if
situations warrant.
College Textbook Policies
Advisory Committee – Recent
legislation establishing a College Textbook Policies Advisory Committee as a
standing committee of the State Board of Education also provides for a faculty
member from Lincoln University to serve on the 23-memer Advisory
Committee. Dr. Venerable will recommend
the faculty person for President Nelson’s consideration and submission.

business, President Nelson adjourned the meeting at 10:45 a.m.
