Budget Planning
President Nelson
discussed
the fact that Lincoln has been able to meet budgeted expenses and
accomplish
building and program expansion over the past few years in large part
due to
additional student tuition and fee revenues and fund raising by the
President. Dr. Nelson stressed the
necessity of all divisions within the university to look at staffing
requirements as well as for ways of bringing in additional revenue as
we move
forward and as student enrollment reaches capacity.
The American Chemical Society has removed Lincoln University from probationary status and has granted continued ACS approval of the University’s chemistry program.
Thurgood Marshall College Fund
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund has awarded a total of $8,800 toward the accounts of three Lincoln students for the spring and/or fall 2006 semesters.
Lincoln has requested the release of furniture and equipment funds for the following projects:
Renovation of University Hall - $2,000,000
Student Union Building (SUB) Renovations - $3,000,000
International Cultural Center (ICC) - $3,100,000
New Science Building - $4,500,000
These funds were appropriated in Act 83 of 2006, but have not as yet been released by the Commonwealth Budget Office.
Vice President Merlin distributed the 2007/2008 Operating Budgets packets. Salary budgets are to be submitted to the office of Human Resources by February 7,2007. Operation and Capital budgets must be entered onto the system by March 8, 2007.
