Ware Center Renovation
The Ware Center Renovation Committee continues to meet. Following are
items/suggestions coming from the November 10 meeting of the Committee:
- AP3C’s contract is now with DGS
- Budget is substantially less than was previously understood
- AP3C introduced alternate scheme that reduces the new
construction square footage by eliminating the two lecture classrooms and
uses the theatre as the main
lecture classroom
Discussion/Comments:
- …it is possible to operate with the theatre functioning
as the lone lecture classroom
- …not possible to hold lecture type classes in the Music
Library
- …probability of holding lecture classes in the Large
Practice Hall
- …folding wall in the Theatre to separate the seating
from the stage area
- …possible that the Language department be relocated all together(?)
- …any classes relocated to other buildings need to be
of a high level of learning capability with all the latest equipment and
learning aids
- ....LU will be providing temporary classrooms for the
classes currently held in the Ware Center
- …possibility of leaving the Dean of Humanities in current
location to free up room for a small lecture classroom
