President’s Cabinet Meeting

Minutes of November 8, 2004 Cabinet meeting were approved.
PA Technology Grant
Lincoln University has received a Commonwealth of PA technology grant in
the amount of $500,000. The funds will be used to begin the process
of replacing the University’s administrative systems. A Request for
Proposal (RFP) to provide hardware, software, consulting, training, and financing
plans for the replacement of Lincoln’s student, financial and human resources/payroll
systems will be released in the near future.
Investigation into the possible reinstatement of football at Lincoln University
The University is looking at the possible benefits and costs associated with
the reinstatement of football at Lincoln. A preliminary survey of current
Lincoln students conducted by Student Affairs and Enrollment Management suggests
that students are willing to incur an extra fee to support a football program.
Other factors must be considered before a decision is reached.
Salary Advance Policy
The Cabinet discussed possible changes to the existing Salary Advance Policy.
The office of Fiscal Affairs was asked to provide a draft of proposed changes
to the President’s Office for review before adoption.
Development and External Relations
Vice President Hill indicated that a revision to the organizational structure
in the division is underway.
The Cabinet discussed at length “Lincoln University’s Interdisciplinary Magnet
Fields as Centers of Excellence and Distinction” and the University’s GPA
criteria for scholarships.
There being no further business, President Nelson adjourned the meeting at
