Minutes of November 7, 2007 Cabinet meeting were approved.
Physical Plant
Cresson Hall – The
fire which started in the basement laundry room made it necessary to
relocate
the students housed in this residence hall.
Students were placed in vacant beds in the residence halls as
well as in
the guest facilities on campus. Cresson
Hall sustained minimal damage and only smoke damage to the rooms. The university contracted with ServPro to
clean the building and it will be ready for the students to move back
in on November
14th.
Cabinet discussed the need to put a contingency plan in
place that would provide 100 beds in case there is ever a need to shut
down a
residence hall in the future.
Manuel Rivero
Gymnasium – Building is running on temporary systems while awaiting
arrival
of equipment. There have been reports of
issues with heating in some offices.
Mary Dod Brown Chapel
– Painting of the ramp is being completed at this time.
Graduate Center
– It has been determined that the university has enough furniture in
its
possession for the move to the 3rd and 4th floor
in
December. Mr. Thompson and VP Hill will
work on ordering the furniture still needed for the lounge area.
