SEOG Grant Awards - In packaging SEOG Grant awards to assist the University in recruiting freshman students, it is a practice to over award to a number of students to account for the fact that all students will not enroll at the University. This year, more students than expected showed up, causing a shortfall in available dollars. The University will honor all awards and is analyzing the effect this will have on the operational budget.
UNCF $25,000 planning grant - This grant was received in September 2001, and is to be used for efforts in NASA related areas. The grant stipulates that a total of $5,000 is to be used for a collaborative effort with public schools. Academic Affairs, Student Affairs & Enrollment Management and the office of Admissions will collaborate on this effort. The Vice President for Academic Affairs was asked to develop and present a proposal for the use of the remaining $20,000.
Secure Handling of Biohazardous Materials - Due to increased
interest in the handling of biohazardous materials, the American Council
on Education (ACE) has petitioned colleges and universities to affirm their
commitment to the secure handling of these materials. Lincoln University
will review its policies and prepare a written statement on where the institution
is on handling any types of materials falling within this classification.
