PRESIDENT
Assessment – Dean Chikwem gave an overview
of the assessment of student learning presentations made by faculty in the
division of Natural Science and Mathematics.
He stated that the activity was very helpful in assessing the progress
and status of the faculty in student learning assessment and that the mid-term
presentations will be implemented as a permanent component of the assessment
process in the School of Natural Science and Mathematics.
Vice
President Hill indicated he will implement the same schedule for student
learning assessment review by faculty in the Mass Communications and Visual
Arts Centers.
Dean
Thomas indicated that faculty in the schools of Humanities and Behavioral and
Social Sciences have been asked to be prepared to make the same type of
presentations at the end of the semester, rather than at mid-term.
Freshman
Placement – The
Cabinet discussed criteria for placement of freshman students into
developmental courses. Items discussed
included a student’s right to waiver (out of developmental courses) under
certain circumstances, and the use of SAT scores as measurement criteria.

Lincoln University for a term expiring August 31, 2015.
