MINUTES
The October 23, 2007, Cabinet
meeting minutes were approved as corrected.
PRESIDENT
President Nelson
thanked members of the Cabinet and their staff for a successful
Homecoming.
At its October
2, 2007, Board of Directors meeting, the CIAA Presidents and
Chancellors voted
to approve Lincoln
University’s
request to
schedule nonconference competition with CIAA institutions for the
2008-09
season. As a nonconference opponent, Lincoln University will not be eligible
to
participate in any championship competition at the end of the season. It is anticipated that Lincoln University’s
CIAA membership will be effective in the 2011-12 academic year.
- Emergency
Notification System Web Conference
Dr. Renford
Brevett will convene an Emergency Notification System Web Conference on
Thursday, November 1, at 11:00 a.m. in the Board Room for anyone
interested in
attending.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
- Vice
President Venerable will be attending the Annual Middle States
Conference in Philadelphia
on December 9-11, 2007.
DEVELOPMENT AND EXTERNAL
RELATIONS
- President Nelson
asked Vice President Hill to consider issuing on-campus parking permits
to University contributors.
FISCAL AFFAIRS
- Vice
President Merlin provided Cabinet members with FY08 enrollment figures
as of 10.29.07.
- Draft
copies of Thompson, Cobb, Bazilio & Associates, PC Management
Letter (06.30.07) and Audits of Financial Statements and Federal Award
Programs for the period ending June 30, 2007, were presented.
STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
- On October 26,
2007, more than 1000 guests attended Fall Open House.
Vice President Bynum anticipates 2000+ guests in Spring 2008.
- Vice President
Bynum will host the NASPA and NASAP Collaboration meeting at Lincoln on
November 9.
- Fulton Bank in Oxford posted a “Welcome Back Lincoln Students” sign on the front of their
building to kick-off the Fall 2007 semester.
There being no further
business, President Nelson adjourned the meeting at 11:30 a.m.
