President's Cabinet Meeting
October 27, 2003
Attendees: President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President Michael B. Hill, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President Grant D. Venerable, Vice President William B. Bynum and Ms. Diane M. Brown
The Cabinet approved the minutes of the October 20, 2003 meeting.
There has been no movement in the legislature toward the approval of the State appropriations for the state-related universities. At this time, Lincoln is continuing operations minus the financial support normally received from the Commonwealth. An increase in the University's line of credit has been secured to help cover operating expenses in light of this shortfall in operating dollars.
New Board of Trustee Member
Nathan H. Waters, Jr., '54, Esquire has been appointed to the Lincoln University Board of Trustees by Speaker of the House of Representatives John M. Perzel.
The Philadelphia Gala was well attended and supported by alumni, corporations and friends of Lincoln University. The Gala was a grand event and feedback received by members of the Cabinet has been very positive. The Philadelphia Gala Commission and the Lincoln staff are to be commended for a job well done.
The next meeting of the faculty union negotiating team and the outside mediator is scheduled for Wednesday, October 29th.
The Cabinet meeting was adjourned at 11:00 AM.
