MINUTES
Cabinet meeting minutes of October 12, 2010 were approved.
PRESIDENT
Lincoln University Science Poster Fair – President Nelson congratulated our students and
faculty on an excellent Science Poster Fair held on the campus the past
Saturday. He would like to see this
event brought together under all schools to include all students participating
in research and internship programs.
Kennett Symphony Performance – The season opening performance held in the ICC
Theater was well attended and an excellent event. Attendees expressed their pleasure with the
availability of a facility capable of hosting these types of events in the
community.
Standard 14 – President Nelson addressed the importance of
developing program student learning assessment based on accrediting agency
standards. He asked that the Deans
present an analysis at the next Cabinet meeting of where we are with regard to
progress in student learning assessment based on the discussion that took place
at this Cabinet meeting. President Nelson also requested assessments from
Institutional Research covering the past five year period of (1) student participation
in co-op or study broad, and (2) the foreign language or computer science
requirement.
Lecture, recitation and Lab Credit Hours – Cabinet discussed a memorandum requesting changes
to the billing for labs and recitation for Chemistry majors. The suggested changes would also have
implications for other departments at the University. The division of academic affairs was asked to
review the matter and propose a solution.

Registration
for Spring 2011 - Cabinet was given copies of the “Undergraduate Mandatory Registration
Procedures for Spring 2011” prepared by the Registrar. In addition to the guidelines included in the
instructions, it was noted that students above the $2,500 balance threshold
will not be permitted to register during the Mandatory Registration period.

being no further business, President
Nelson adjourned the meeting at 11:15 a.m.
