PRESIDENT
President Nelson participated in
the inauguration ceremony for Dr. Michelle Howard-Vital, President of
Cheyney
University, on Friday, October 10th.
Information from the Commonfund
and Moody’s Investors Service was distributed for information.
The additional funds requested for
furniture and equipment for Wright Hall and Langston Hughes Library
have not
yet been released by the Budget Office.
President Nelson requested a
progress report on the University’s retention efforts.
The report should include the objective of
the program and statistics on the numbers and percentage of students
participating in the program. Vice
President
Bynum indicated that Professional and student tutors have been hired to
support
the University’s retention efforts.
FISCAL AFFAIRS
Dr. Bullock distributed revised
copies of draft policies on “No Smoking and Tobacco Use,” “Substance

for Substance Abuse policy will be sought from the Safety Committee and
union
leadership on campus prior to any action being taken.
STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
Vice President Bynum reported

Union Building
offices has been put in place. The
offices of Financial Aid and Residence Life are scheduled to move into

Enrollment numbers were not available. However,
Vice President Bynum reported that indicators
suggest that the final census for the Fall 2008 semester will probably
record
the largest student body in Lincoln University’s
history.
An Open House is scheduled for
Friday, October 17, 2008 from 10 AM to 2 PM in the gymnasium.
