President's Cabinet Meeting
October 13, 2003
Attendees: President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President Michael B. Hill, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President William B. Bynum, Vice President Grant D. Venerable and Ms. Diane M. Brown
The Cabinet approved the minutes of the October 6, 2003 meeting.
All University buildings will be heated with the use of temporary boilers until the main heating system is repaired. The University will not be utilizing the portable propane units previously proposed. The temporary boilers will provide a safe and reliable form of heat.
Langston Hughes Memorial Library
Within the next two weeks, the Library will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and return to being open from 2 to 10 p.m. on Sundays. In addition, Special Collections will be open 2 to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
Dickey Hall Classrooms
In response to student needs, classrooms on the first floor of Dickey Hall and at least two classrooms on the second floor will remain unlocked and available for students to study between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.
Student Affairs & Enrollment Management
The Division is taking steps to ensure that our undergraduate students are given every opportunity to financially clear and remain at the University. It will be necessary to administratively withdraw some students due to their inability to attain an established level of financial clearance. Those unable to meet the criteria will be asked to vacate their living space and cease attending classes.
Graduate students must make arrangements to clear all financial obligations to the University by October 31st or be administratively withdrawn.
The Cabinet meeting was adjourned at 12:00 PM.
