President's Cabinet Meeting

October 9, 2000

Attendees: President Ivory V. Nelson, Interim Vice President Saligrama C. SubbaRao, Vice President William B. Bynum, Ms. Rosalie Facey-Jones, Ms. Cheryl Rice-Moore, Ms. Diane M. Brown

Board of Trustees - Vice Presidents were asked to work with their respective Board Committee to establish Committee goals for 2000-01. The goals should be relevant to the vision, mission and goals of the University.

Articulation Agreements - Before the Commonwealth will release the $1.3 million in appropriations for special projects that was included in Lincoln's 2000-2001 budget, the University must list all articulation agreements on the Web site. Dr. Thomas Dickey has been assigned this task and expects to have it completed by October 13, 2000.

L.U. 2000-2001 Operating Budget - Vice Presidents were asked to cut expenses by 3% due to a 2.76% reduction in revenue caused by a lower student enrollment than had been budgeted for.

Performance Evaluations - In accordance with University policy, all employees have been given a performance evaluation. There are, however, instances where proper signatures must be secured and copies of the evaluation forwarded to the Office of Human Resources for proper filing.

Code of Student Conduct Revisions - The Cabinet approved the 2000-2001 Student Handbook with the revisions to the Code of Student Conduct, which were transmitted to President Nelson by Vice President Bynum with a Memo dated October 4, 2000.

Financial Aid Services - The University has scheduled PHEAA training sessions for financial aid staff October 16, 17, 18 as recommended by the consultant who is assisting Lincoln in this area.

U.S. Dept. of Education - FY 1998 Official Cohort Default Rates - The following default rates have been reported for Lincoln by the Dept. of Education: FY 1998 FY 1997 FY 1996 Default Rate 12.5 16.8 16.3 Number in Default 77 93 68 Number in Repay 615 552 416

Gift Solicitation - All solicitations of gifts for the University must be coordinated through the Office of Development & External Relations. This will help avoid duplicate solicitations and also ensure proper follow up by the Development Office.

Procedure for Processing of Contributions to Lincoln - The Office of Development & External Relations will process all donations received by the University. The Office has revised the procedures for recording and processing gifts to ensure proper recording and acknowledgement of all gifts.
