Minutes
of the September 20, 2011 Cabinet Meeting were accepted as presented.
PRESIDENT
Academic initiatives resulting from the strategic
focus on assessment of student learning and teaching were discussed. An example of a common syllabus was
distributed and reviewed.
Lincoln
University
Constitution Day –
A summary of “Constitution Day 2011: A Public Forum on the U.S. Constitution
and Citizenship,” held September 16th on the campus was distributed.
Grim Hall and the Library – Certificates of occupancy
have been received for these two facilities.
However, moving day for both buildings is pending elevator inspection
and keys (Grim Hall) and cleaning and keys (Library).
The Pennsylvania Senate
Appropriations Committee
will hold a public hearing on the impact of FY 2011-12 Appropriations Act and
other topics in the International
Cultural Center
on the campus, October 13, 2011 at 1:00 PM.
A panel of faculty, students and staff will testify before the
Committee. Faculty, students and staff
are encouraged to attend this public forum.
HBCU Ranking – Lincoln University has been
ranked#24 in the ranking of HBCUs recently published by US News. This is up from #27 in the last ranking.
