Attendees:  President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President William B. Bynum, Vice President Grant D. Venerable, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President Michael B. Hill and Ms. Diane M. Brown. Attending for portion of meeting: Mr. John Thompson, Director of Physical Plant.

Minutes
Draft Cabinet minutes of September 13, 2006 were approved.

Physical Plant Briefing
Mr. Thompson reported that the renovation work on University Hall and Ware Center is on schedule.  Reports were also provided on the repair of the LLC boiler to be undertaken during the winter months and additional painting to be done both inside and outside on the Chapel.  It was also reported that the bids for the Student Union Building renovation project are back.

Fiscal Affairs
Vice President Merlin briefed the Cabinet regarding the status of the Master Lease contract negotiations.  

Cabinet also discussed the needs relative to interim arrangements for housekeeping and security services at the Graduate Center until the Master Lease contract is finalized.  

Academic Affairs
The Student Honors Convocation is scheduled for Thursday, November 2, 2006 @ 11:00 AM.  In addition to the student honors, the Lindback Awards will be presented to faculty recipients on this occasion.

 
 Student Affairs and Enrollment Management

Cabinet approved the following policy statement submitted by Vice President Bynum.

    “Lincoln University of the Commonwealth System of Higher Education does not permit on its main campus, Graduate Center or at any University-sponsored events, the advertisement or solicitation of credit cards.  In addition, this prohibition on advertisement or solicitation is also extended to alcohol or alcohol-related products or merchandise, tobacco or tobacco-related products and merchandise, pornographic or sexually explicit materials, or any other illegal activities or products.”
