President’s Cabinet Meeting Wednesday, September 8, 2010 9:00 a.m.
MINUTES
ATTENDEES:President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President Howard E. Merlin,
Executive Vice President Michael B. Hill, Provost and Senior Vice President Dr.
Grant D. Venerable, Assistant Vice President and Director of Assessment Dr.
Harold Aubrey, Diane M. Brown. PRESIDENT 2010-2011 Operating Budget – President Nelson asked VP Merlin to distribute the
budgets to the heads of the divisions. GPA-forgiveness programs – President Nelson shared and discussed an article
that discussed the current national push to persuade former students to return
to campus to complete their degrees. PROVOST AND SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
FORACADEMIC AND STUDENT AFFAIRS MSCHE Small Team Visit – Discussion regarding the small team visit on
September 24 was held. FISCAL AFFAIRS American Express Reconciliation – VP Howard Merlin stressed the importance of
bringing all reconciliations up to date as soon as possible.EVP Michael Hill will meet with the academic
secretaries responsible for the AMEX reconciliation report to determine a way
forward in order to bring all reports current HBCU Capital Financing – HBCU Capital Financing representatives will be on
campus Tuesday, September 14 to discuss financing of the new 600-bed residence
hall.Preparation/material needed for
the September 14 meeting was discussed. Policies – The following administrative policies were
