Minutes
President's Cabinet Meeting
September 6, 2000
Physical Plant Update
The Preliminary Engineering Report for the University's Fire Alarm & Security
Systems Upgrade project, drafted by Professional Systems Engineering, LLC (PSE),
provides a total project allocation of $1,251,000 and does not take into account
the additional capital funds ($750,000) authorized by the General Assembly in
Act 27 of 2000. Mr. McGowan will ask PSE to revise the preliminary report to
include these additional dollars. These additional funds will allow the inclusion
of additional academic and administrative buildings in the project. The remaining
four buildings which were in violation of L&I requirements (Library, Gym, SUB
and Ware Center) passed an inspection on Friday, September 1, 2000. This round
of inspections clears all of the University's open issues with L&I.
