Minutes
Minutes of August 14, 2007 Cabinet meeting were approved.
Facilities
The university is still waiting on certificates of occupancy
for University Hall and Ware
Center. We will be unable to move into the
facilities until these certificates are received.

Plaza
Update:
- Necessary
demolition work is continuing and construction has begun on the 2nd
floor
- The layout for new
walls has begun, window openings 50% cut in and ductwork started from
the
mechanical rooms for the fit-out for the 3rd & 4th
floors, which will be occupied by Lincoln
- The final locations
for the card readers and security devices has been confirmed
- Three temporary air
conditioning units have been installed to supplement the main AC unit.
- Vice President Hill
and Dean Willis will meet to discuss furniture needs
Academic Affairs
The Deans provided brief updates on activities in their respective
schools. Dean Chikwem informed the group
that a tribute to the late Dr. B. Marshall Henderson has been scheduled
for
October 11, 2007.
Development &
External Relations
Vice President Hill reiterated the importance of the
coordination of all fund raising activities through the office of
development. It is very important, and a
matter of policy, that his office is contacted prior to communication
with any
private funding source concerning support for the university or a
program of
the university.
Fiscal Affairs
The Draft Smoking Policy which was revised to include the
prohibition of smoking in all Lincoln University
owned/leased
vehicles and to include NCAA stipulations covering coaches &
athletic staff
was approved.
Student Affairs and Enrollment
Management
Due to the large number of freshmen and returning students,
some of the upperclassmen will be temporarily housed in the Living
Learning
Center Guest Quarters. We expect to be
able to move these students to the residence halls toward the end of
September.
Lincoln University student Ashley Parker has been selected
from over 120 conference nominees as one of the top 30 contenders for
the 2007
NCAA Woman of the Year.
