President Nelson opened the meeting by stating that the Housekeeping, Maintenance and Physical Plant staffs are to be commended for the great job in preparing the buildings and grounds for the return of our students. Freshmen arrived on campus Sunday, August 19, 2001 to a well-groomed campus and clean and readied residence halls.
Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund (TMSF) Capital Campaign - The TMSF is currently conducting a survey to determine the feasibility of conducting a National Capital Campaign to benefit all TMSF Member Schools, of which Lincoln is one. The results of the findings will be presented during HBCU Week in Washington, DC (September 16, 2001).

Academic Affairs
The proposed Faculty Contract will be presented to the faculty for
vote at the Faculty Conference, Wednesday, August 22, 2001.
Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (SAEM)
The records indicate that a total of 468 freshmen had arrived on campus
as of August 20, 2001. More are expected to arrive throughout the
week.
Updated Student Handbooks are expected to be delivered by the end of the day, Monday, August 20, 2001.
The Lincoln University campus security force is in place and will be outfitted with official uniforms the week of August 27, 2001.

Fiscal Affairs
Mr. Joe Murphy has joined the Lincoln University staff as Maintenance
Manager in the Physical Plant department. Mr. Murphy comes to the
University with over fourteen (14) years of administrative experience in
facility operations, including grounds and maintenance.
