Project
1101-28: A meeting was held with DGS
design and the professional to map out a plan However, this project has been delayed due to
the illness of the DGS contact . As soon
as a replacement is in place this project can get back on track. Some phases of
our work will continue.
·
Project
1101-32 Vail Hall: Abatement in Vail is
complete and they are now beginning some demo work. Completion is forecasted to
be late December. Lincoln Hall work will begin shortly afterwards with
completion forecasted to be late June.
·
Projects
1101-39 (Grimm) 1101-43 (Wright) and 1101-44 (Library): Abatement of floor tile and some piping
insulation is taking place in Grimm Hall. Once this is complete the abatement
contractors will move to Wright Hall. Demo will begin in Grimm this week with
Wright to follow. We are still working with DGS to rearrange the safety fence
to insure that our needs are met.
·
Projects
1101-45 (Landscape) and 1101-46 (Athletics): The projects’ kick-off meeting is
scheduled for August 11th. DGS and our project team are very
concerned that the point 1 contractor still has not yet finalized his
contractor list. As soon as the
construction team is in place, work will begin on the schedule and what areas
of the campus will be effected.
·
Project
1101-47: The management team and the 4 primes have mobilized. Construction of
the temporary retention basins is well underway. Because 1101-45 is late
starting, the Point 1 contractor is being granted a change order to cut in the
base for the connecting road to be used as a construction road for the time
being, reducing activity near the Physical Plant.
·
Eight Plex: The modular units are in place and complete
as far as HVAC, Sanitary, and Domestic water. We have finalized the room
assignments and phone and data needs.
We have
located and we are installing cameras in various locations in and around the
complex to help eliminate vandalism.
·
The Library
book move is complete. Due to the time of year the modular company is extremely
busy. The crew worked on our 8 plex and the repairs to the library units
outside. We still have a punch list of
items and the contractors will be in later this week to complete the work prior
to the students’ return.
·
Grounds: A full
campus cut has been scheduled for a few days before the students return. Our crew is tied up with moves and last minute
work orders.
John Thompson
Director Physical Plant.
